Extra initialization command for GPRS connection in mobile

Extra initialization command for GPRS connection in mobile

You may find the *99# dial number does not work on your PC

This is because the settings within your phone are stored in a different order

To fix this problem there are 2 solutions:

1) You can change the dial number to *99***n# and replace "n" with the correct slot number that your access settings are stored in

2) You can use *99# as the dial number, then enter an initialization command in the modem settings

To enter the command follow these instructions...

Click "Start", then "Control Panel" on your PC

Then click on the icon that says "Phones and modems"

(If you cannot see this icon click on "Switch to classic view", then click on "Phones and modems")

There will be 3 TABS at the top of the window that appears. Click on "Modems"

You should now see 2 modems listed. One is your PC's internal 56K modem, and the other should be a "Standard modem over Bluetooth link"

Highlight the "Bluetooth modem" and click "Properties"

A new window will appear with 7 tabs. Click the one named "Advanced"

In the box called "Extra initialization commands" enter the following:

VODAFONE:     AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”www”

VIDEOCON:     AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","VINTERNET.COM"

AIRTEL:     AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","airtelgprs.com"

AIRCEL:        AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","aircelgprs.com"
